The Assignment


                                  


                          This paper will be argumentative paper: you will take a position on the issue you have chosen and then convince your readers your position is sound by citing outside evidence. You might use description, narration, cause/effect, illustration, and s on in developing a sound argument. You might appeal to your readers’ emotions, but you will carry your argument only by using logical, recent, sound sources. The issue need not be controversial. In your paper suppose to have at least six sources.


        Your paper must be properly documented according to MLA guidelines. Plagiarized papers will receive an F.


1.     A main idea (thesis) must have the word “should” or “should not” in the thesis statement.


2.     At least three of your sources need to be periodicals that are scholarly or peer reviewed. For other sources you find via internet, be very careful to keep track of where the information came from. Of great importance here is that you evaluate carefully the information and its source to verify its soundness. Make sure you can verify or that the source is impeccable and respected.


3.     Part of your research must include at least two interview with a person who has special or expert knowledge or experience related to your topic. Information obtained from one interview must appear in the body of your paper or you will be docked one whole grade on you paper.
