Rationale

First, it is important to note that, recognizing as well as acquiring strategy in every business works effectively if identified and handled with consistency and enough amount of knowledge in order to assume good production and sales following a crisis, for example the financial crisis in the year 2008. The research will be in development of primary as well as secondary tools ideal for having measurable outcomes and reliable analysis. The need to impose research question as well as research hypothesis in lieu to having some applicable methods to use for research conciseness, vigor and spontaneity thus, it is important to utilize appropriate research materials and approaches in order to achieve a definite purpose and objective of study focus. For organization and sequence it is important to have such integration of details to gather to at least one manufacturing business, to allow application of research plan and other considering points as deemed important.

Study Overview

For support study, the need to assume presence of global sourcing strategy as effective trend in management like, in terms of product services perspectives as the research focus has shifted to “outsourcing” activities also, the internal to external shift, as focus on global sourcing, business practitioners have applied core competency argument to justify increased levels of outsourcing activities from global basis. Furthermore, there integrated that, “lawmakers should include investment, employment and economic security policies in national development strategies to move ahead of the current global financial and economic crisis” – (quoted from, the Star Online, 2009 in, United Nations official) Thus, he further indicated, “while emerging markets in Asia have plunged by about 50 percent on average, which have negative impact on the average household income and wealth, the financial position of many developing countries is in much better shape than during the previous financial crises in Asia and Latin America, as there provide window of opportunity to lock in reforms to the international financial system and to invest in strategies for sustainable and equitable growth”.

Research methodology and design process

The research methodology and design process would involve such primary as well as secondary sources for bringing about substantial studies that are literature based and theoretically inclined for which such research methods utilized may truly serve its first hand purpose for this study. The primary sources will have to represent original thinking as the core data for the research will have to be in case studies as well as survey questionnaires equipped with suitable statistical data and its measures as it can have direct observation to the research process as undergoing research should be handed in with empirical facets and crucial points gathered by the researcher. There should also be the integration of secondary data as findings and assumption studies made by several researchers can be good option that supports any valid information. The secondary data will then analyze and evaluate information as being found in the primary sources and creates information more accessible to the readers and the parties involved as these were supported by good books, peer reviewed journals as well as articles and other publication types. When moving the case method for instance, can have such shifts from one paradigm to another and in handling study discipline, such careful approach is amicably needed. The data to be gathered will be tallied by the researcher and will be encoded in the computer.  Hard copy will be printed to ensure that files are kept including the questionnaire responses of the sample.  Frequencies will be computed into percentages and will be presented through graphs, tables and textual arrangements. The analysis of data can be through scaling interpretation for the survey questions that can be in support to descriptive type of analysis basing from responses. There will be utilization of interval scaling as the researcher can justify the use of the arithmetic mean as measure of average. The interval scale has equal units of measurement and possible to interpret not only the order of scale scores as possible to add or subtract constant of the scale value without affecting the form of the scale, requiring interval scales for this study is just appropriate supported by likert scales for the survey as every scale item will have 5 categories, with scale values ranging from -2 to +2 with 0 as neutral response. (Underwood, 2004 p. 1)

Likert scales are treated as yielding Interval data by the majority of marketing researchers.  The scales which have been described in this chapter are among the most commonly used in marketing research. Whilst there are great many more forms which scales can take, if students are familiar with those described in this chapter they will be well equipped to deal with most types of survey problem. Furthermore, through such application of the Likert scale measurement, the degree of agreement as well as disagreement will be given desired numeric value wherein there can include such 2-5 interpretative points from strongly agree up to neutral scaling aspect down to strongly disagree as to be effective in calculation processes (Underwood, 2004 p. 1).

The research question

-      What is one specific strategy to use for having good production and stable sales after an economic crisis? – such as applied in manufacturing business

-      How and what are the ways to make use of the strategy? – the application and execution of manufacturing strategies to boost sales and production of the business

-      How can the key players and customers learn from relationships of production and sales, putting relevance to strategy? – in forming interview/questionnaires as directly as possible

Thus, the need to note that this research will attend to three variables (dependent and independent variables), for outcome investigations

Dependent variable – Strategy

Independent variables – Production, Sales

The considering of research hypothesis inputs can be ideal in guiding the research study to be organized in such research design flow and pattern as vital for achieving coherent understanding of what methods are used, how methods are linked as well as how approaches to research are supported by such primary and secondary data resources within strategy identification and execution into manufacturing business.

The research hypothesis implies to strategy formation and the overall process planning of the project

-      There is positive relationship towards strategies of production and strategies of sales

-      There is negative relationship towards strategies of production and strategies of sales

Research Organization

Moreover, Creswell (1994) stated that “descriptive method of research is to gather information about the present existing condition. The emphasis is on describing rather than on judging or interpreting. The aim of descriptive research is to verify questions and research hypotheses that present ample situation upon designing of strategies, avoiding business crisis. Indeed, descriptive research method was employed so as to identify the strategy formation and strategic relationship of production and sales following economic crisis into manufacturing industry. The researcher opted to use this research method considering the objective to obtain first hand data from the respondents. The descriptive method is advantageous for the researcher due to its flexibility; this method can use either qualitative or quantitative data or both, giving the researcher greater options in selecting the instrument for data-gathering (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2003 p. 112). In addition, quantitative approach is more on the detailed description of a phenomenon, basically giving out generalization of the gathered data within measurable outcome analysis and interpretation.

Quantitative approach is useful for this study, helping the researcher to prevent biases in terms of gathering and presenting research data, methodology in procedure known will create reality based in literature knowledge transcending research perspective of the variables known, along with such need to avoid too subjectivity on research framework, from within collecting and exploring information which describes the experience being studied (Gall, Gall and Borg, 2003).

Assumption

The research will be dealing and integrating relevant and valid instances to incur the process of putting research and its methodological paradigm into actual flow of evidence proving and be able to recognize as well as support whatever research outcomes the study is deemed and expected to contribute from its ideal design and framework of research in motion. There can be integration of research tools and materials within such instrument validation as well as measurement use to come up with reliable research results pointing towards certain variables involved in study focusing on major posits of strategy formation, geared towards effective production and sales as facilitated and reflected.

Therefore, there have to be considerations of research design approach outputs, allowing successful foundation of the research questions and the applicability of the overall research to future reference along with ethical standards pertaining to the handling of research materials for one, respondents data and information, be organized in such research design flow and pattern as vital for achieving coherent understanding of what methods are used, how methods are linked and how approaches are being recognized and supported by primary and secondary data domain from the strategy creation to production and sales adaptation context.
