A Mother’s Love

A Mother’s Love Introduction Many people view the work of a mother as a great opportunity. For some, being a mother is the start of their dream of becoming a woman. People identified the work of a mother as a never-ending responsibility, no compensation yet full of rewards, no overtime but willing to stay late at night, no qualifications required just a simple touch of warm touch. The love of a mother is definitely unique and full of mysteries. Children and their husbands often wonder about the strength of the mothers to take care the entire family. This is because a woman understands that her love is enough to keep her family. A Mother There is only one day that people in the whole world celebrate the existence of their mothers, and that is the mother’s day. During that day, as a counterpart of the father’s day that usually happens for the next month, people are trying to give something in pleasure of their mothers. From the simple cards, flowers, to sumptuous dinner or luxurious gift, no one can ever measure a mother’s love. Actually, there is no specific measurement that can be used to measure the love of our mothers. For children, their mother is their pillow when they are afraid sleeping in their own bed or their blanket when they are sick. For teenagers, the mother is their greatest advisor. For the husbands and fathers, their wives are their shelter when everything went wrong during their tiring day. In this ides, our mother is not just a single person. The mother that we have known for all of our lives plays different roles for almost everyday. Her role changes because of the things we need for her. Her care, love, trust, and guidance are the essential ingredients to build our own personality. The Mother and Daughter Relationship Most of the studies about the relationship of the mother on her children are focus on her relationship to her daughter/s. Maybe because both of them have same hormones or gender that is why there is an attraction happening between them. Usually, during the developmental stage of the daughter, the mother is always the person that is standing beside her to support her daughter. Females are identified as emotionally-centered person and no one understand their ways and how they think unless there another woman that will help or support her. The mother and daughter relationship is already established since in the ancient era. For example, the mother needs a companion to do some of the house chores. And to help her to finish all the works inside the house, she teaches and encourages her daughter to help her. Sometimes, by simple approach of the daughter to help her mother or otherwise asking her mother to help is a sign that there is a bond between them. But the relationship that was built between them is often tested during the time.   What Went Wrong? The mother’s love for her daughter is predicted to be effective if and only if the daughter is aware about her mother’s love and is willing to accept with all her soul. Daughters are the reflection of the mother’s younger version. Meaning, the daughter is the former self of the present mother. This may be the reason why do many people often say that “mothers know best”. Definitely, based on the observation, our mothers have natural characteristics to learn if the people that surround them are good people or not. This thing is called, their natural instinct. Most of the decisions of the mothers are based on their own experience or through their natural gift of instincts. Most conflict or challenges appear in the mother and daughter relationship when the daughter is disobeying her mother just to pursue her own ideas or just to follow what she wants. Most of the mothers view this kind of action as a prodigal or rogue, but no matter how hard the attempt to persuade their daughters, mothers’ care are often taken for granted and the relationship between them becomes weak. Sometimes, the mother is the one who is reckless in making the decisions for the entire family. And this event usually happens when the mother is away, or has a broken family, and so on. Conclusion The relationship of the mother and her daughter needs a broad discussion. But the most common thing that is popular in their relationship revolves in their value of their love for each other. Dysfunctional Team

My Personal Experience               I worked in accounting department for a short period of time. One of my job responsibilities was that each month I was responsible for updating customer’s expired credit card on their accounts and had fallen behind. The head accountant sent a note to me and to other worker from the distributing department saying that we need to team up and handle the job together. I emailed to the worker and told her I will give them all the information so she could start. I received no reply at first, sent the second email, no reply either so I decided go to the distribution department to see her personally and caught her talking to someone on the phone (it was not business related). Couple of days later, the head accountant asked me if we started working together. I told her everything. She said she would talk to the other worker personally. The next day, the other worker showed up late at work and showed no interest working. She talked on the phone for a while then she excused herself to get a coffee. It took her 45 minutes. When she got back, I attempted to talk to her how we would work together in the future as a team. I told her we have a goal to achieve. As a result, she gave me a yes or a no. I asked her why she’s giving me this attitude? She said why I should work so hard. She also said that the task is not challenging so she isn’t interested to work. She also said that you will do better job than me. What contributed to this; our team became dysfunctional because of her lack of motivation.   Problems Social Loafing                      One of the problems that I observed in our team was social loafing. I observed that my teammate was not motivated to work and she did not express any interest at all, in what we had to accomplish as a team. There can be many explanations for her behavior. What I think the reasons why she was loafing were: <ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in" type="circle"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%">She 	believed that her efforts will not result in better 	 	performance of the group.</li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%">She 	believed that 	 	individual efforts will not be recognized or rewarded.</li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%">She did 	not expect to receive the 	 	rewards that she valued. </li> </ul>   Free Riding             Another problem, which is related to loafing is free-riding. Perhaps the reason why my teammate was loafing was because of her desire to free ride on my efforts. According to Harkins and Jackson (1985) when a group task makes individual contributions anonymous, and rewards are shared equally, group members can reduce their own individual effort but still enjoy an equal share of the results. My teammate was free riding because she believed that her contributions will not be identified.   Felt Dispensability             Another problem that I observed in our team was that my teammate felt that she was dispensable. According to Kerr and Bruun (1983) in some cases, social loafing results from feelings of being dispensable. Group members may feel dispensable when more able group members are available to accomplish the task. This probably was what my teammate felt. She thought that I can handle the task alone so she was not committed to the task. My teammate feel dispensable that’s why she reduced her efforts or did not perform her duties.   Group Development             Every team or group undergoes a development process consisting of different stages. The group development process include the following stages:   <ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in" type="circle"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%"> 	 	Forming – during this stage of group development, the members get 	acquainted with each other. During this 	 	stage, the group establishes ground rules. </li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%"> 	 	Storming – this stage is characterized by a high degree of 	 	conflict within the group. I consider the storming stage as the most 	crucial stage. In this stage, the group members and the 	 	leader have to resolve the issues that may affect the group in the 	future. If the group is unable to resolve the issues, it may be 	 	disbanded. If the issues are resolved the group will become 	 	cohesive. </li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%"> 	 	Norming – during this stage, the group becomes more cohesive and 	 	identification as a member becomes greater. During this stage, the group 	members start to develop 	 	relationships. </li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%"> 	 	Performing – during this stage, questions about group relationships and 	 	leadership have been resolved and the group is ready to work. Each 	member devotes his/herself to getting the job done. </li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 200%"> 	 	Adjourning – during this stage, the group will cease to exist. This is 	because it has met its goals and is no longer needed. </li> </ul>               Perhaps one of the reasons why our team is dysfunctional is because of the abnormal group development process. Because there are just two of us in the team, the head accountant expected us to be able to work together immediately. The supervisor did not consider that we need to solve the challenges that arise in every stage of the group development process before we can work as a team. The reason why we were not able to work together as a team is because we went straight to the “Performing” stage and by-passed the Forming, Storming, and Norming stages. We were not able to deal with the issues and problems in the forming, storming and norming stages before we moved to the performing stage of group development process.             There was also no clear leadership. The head accountant did not clearly communicate each member’s roles. She also did not inform us what her responsibilities will be.   Recommendations             Social loafing and related group problems can be mitigated if individuals in the group find the task to be interesting or important to them; when people work with people whom they respect; when their individual contribution is seen as unique or directly related to the outcome; and when an individual expects others in the group not to work well on the task (Pennington 2002).   Motivation (Expectancy)             If the individual expects that his or her efforts will contribute to the performance and success of the team, social loafing will be diminished. There are different factors that may affect expectancy. These include the nature of the task, member skills and abilities, goal setting, self-efficacy, self-esteem, an understanding of the requirements for successful performance, the provision of necessary resources to succeed at the task, and a match between individual personality and the social requirements of the task.             Thus, the possible solutions that can lessen social loafing are: 1. Careful selection of members and matching of members to appropriate tasks based on their skills and personality; 2. Training in key basic skills, as well as in the unique attributes of the task or role; 3. Setting challenging, realistic, goals that are accompanied by regular, diagnostic feedback; 4. Providing needed resources and support functions: and 5. Creating an environment conducive to developing and enhancing self-efficacy and self-esteem, or for encouraging those aspects of the individual’s personality to be expressed   Group Cohesiveness and Social Identification             Enhancing the importance of collective outcomes and their relevance to individual’s self-evaluation can eliminate social loafing. One strategy that can be recommended is increasing group cohesiveness. Group cohesiveness refers to the degree to which individuals socially identify with the group. People are more likely to be concerned with the welfare of other group members and to feel that the evaluation of the group is important to their own self-evaluation when working in cohesive groups. Members of cohesive groups may also be more attentive to the fact that the group’s performance and resulting outcomes are partially dependent on their own individual performances (Turner 2001).   References   Harkins S.G. & Jackson J.M. The literature supports the claim that stress affects academic performance. And there are many researches which point to having a girlfriend or a boyfriend as one of the sources of stress for students. Stress is defined as the perception of discrepancy between environmental demands and individual capacities to fulfill these demands. Campbell (2006) defines stress as the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demands placed on them. Stress occurs when an individual is confronted by a situation that they perceive as overwhelming and cannot cope up with. Academic stress among students have long been researched on, and researchers have identified stressors as to many assignments, competition with other students, failures, lack of pocket money, poor relationships with other students or lecturers, family or problems at home. Institutional level stressors include overcrowded lecture halls, semester system, and inadequate resources to perform academic work.             Aside from the sources mentioned above, dating or having a romantic relationship is also seen not only as a source of stress but as a distraction. There is a lack of data regarding the influence of dating partners during adolescence. The limited literature has directed most of the attention towards the negative outcomes of adolescent romantic relationship involvement. Research on adolescent sexuality, for example, frequently derives from a problem behavior perspective, focusing on issues such as early age of onset, teen pregnancy, and more recently risk of sexually transmitted infections. The lack of prior research on the effects of romantic relationships may be due at least in part to the fact that, in comparison to parents and even peers, such relationships are very short-lived and transitory – thus lessening any potential impact.               According to the research conducted by romantic climate of the school influences academic performance regardless of whether adolescents actually engage in relationship formation. The research also reveals that there are gender differences in the consequences of romantic climate, with boys generally doing better in schools with a strong romantic focus and girls generally doing worse compared to their same sex peers at schools where forming a relationship is less desirable. For boys, actually dating does not have an effect on changes in academic performance or aspirations. However, girls who form relationship have a significant decline in their overall grades compared to girls who do not date, and this effect is even stronger in schools where relationships are desired. In this setting, customers typically have identified their needs, and as a result, they seek vendors with suitable product quality at acceptable prices (Bauer, et al., 1998). Relationships are an important part in life especially in a business transaction. Any ruined relationship will be difficult to rebuild and recover. The paper will discuss the Importance of Service Recovery in Successful Relationships.   What is service? Service entails making sure that a firm would give the desires and needs of the client. Service is involved with the need to satisfy the clients. Professional business firms attempt to sell their competence and build reputation. They may emphasize service to clients and attempt to differentiate themselves from competitors as offering a better service. However, more often than not, the clients use surrogates such as size or age of the firm or the list of its major clients to assess quality. Professional service firms, according to her, do not compete on price and costs nor do they create value by the transformation of tangible inputs into output. Professional service firms globalize because they perceive size and globalization as proxies for high quality and hence reputation. They may need to cater to demands of global clients who demand consistent services at multiple sites, or to serve local clients with global problems. They may choose global strategies also to achieve credibility or to learn from a large number of diverse projects. In some cases, the reason for globalization is even more mundane and idiosyncratic such as personal preferences of partners. The organization of the professional service firm depends fundamentally on the organization of the client firm activities it is expected to support (Aharoni & Nachum 2000).   What is relationship marketing? Relationship marketing is known as marketing seen as relationships, networks and interaction or marketing based on interaction within a network of relationships.  The credo of relationship marketing embraces a series of properties and strategies. These were originally designed with the customer-supplier relationships in mind, and most of the writings in relationship marketing are limited to that dyad. It will, however, be obvious that they are equally applicable to internal relationships. Everything today is affected by IT. Relationship marketing and network organizations are commonly presented as children of IT, in particular of computer databases and the new infrastructure created by internet, e-mail, voice mail, and mobile phones. This is not the whole truth; both relationship marketing and network organizations have been around since the dawn of business. IT, however, changes certain rules of the marketing and organizational game and invents new games. Consequently, a discourse on the role of IT in internal marketing is called for (Lewis & Varey 2000). Relationship marketing focuses on recognizing the need for a firm to make sure that it has a good and healthy relationship with clients. Relationship marketing differs from the other forms of marketing by the way it refuses to focus on an untested or a new market. Relationship marketing prefers clients who have been loyal to them than clients who are new and untested. Service failure As a company engages in a business with a client there are times that the clients will comment about the failure of the firm to give what they want. In this case the company needs to make sure that they can recover and provide satisfaction to clients and meet their expectations.   Service recovery Service organizations occasionally make mistakes or mistreat a customer. When this happens, they are in peril of losing the customer forever. Consequently, an extraordinary effort for service recovery is called for, not only to recapture the customer but also to impress the customer so much that they tell all of their friends about the experience. While the service providers may not be able to avoid all mistakes, they can learn to recover from them. A good service recovery can turn a disgruntled customer into a loyal one and turn a frustrating experience into a fond memory. One way to enhance service recovery is to allow the front-line employees to identify problems and empower them to correct service mistakes (Nie & Young 1996).  It is vital for a firm to make sure that it rectifies its mistakes in giving services to clients.  It is vital for a firm to make sure that it corrects any issues that will ruin their relationships with clients.   Conclusion Service recovery is vital to successful relationships since it makes sure that the clients would return and avail of the services in the future. The Pros and Cons of a May-December Love Affair             “Age doesn’t matter”. This is one of the most commonly used slogan of lovers for like a century. But, we were used to seeing man as the older one when it comes into relationships. And, when he’s older than the woman, he must not exceed ten years older than the woman. But how did this rule in relationships come to occur? Is it only me who have never seen the constitution and by-laws of lovers? Or, is it everyone?             Yes, it is everyone who has never seen that kind of constitution and by-laws because it doesn’t really exist. It is only our elders who make those kinds of norms, consequently erroneously believed by most of the following generations.             As we try to analyze it, there are only a few reasons why the society looks down to the May-December affairs. When one is much older than the other in the relationship, taking for example: the woman is older than the man for eleven years, there would always be some instances that their likes and dislikes don’t meet up. If the guy of twenty-plus dates a woman at her thirties, they couldn’t go gimmicking together like hanging out to the clubs because of the thirties already see clubs not ideal for their age and that those places are so noisy. In that case, the guy would argue with the woman about her not acceptance of his world. He may misunderstand the woman’s idea about his going out.             Another con in a May-December relationship is that the older one, especially when she’s lived a good reputation gets very timid about the relationship to the public especially in the beginning because she stereotypes that everyone doesn’t agree with them going out, having the big difference in their age. That would really be a conflict.             Also, in this relationship, there would always be times that the older one is the captain of the ship and that she must always be the one to decide because she’s the one who’s wiser in the duo. This is a kind of control of the relationship that is difficult to handle. Although the younger one wants to do something for the relationship, there would be moments that he’ll be left like an immature and irresponsible being, since he’s younger. In that case, that would cause the younger partner to become dependent on his older partner and their relationship. That would cause him to knock his self-esteem off.             Most notably, the cruelest part of the relationship would likely to happen. That is for the younger one to look for his age or even younger. Since, he is with an older one, there is always a possibility that youth would tempt him for youth. And since the elder sees the relationship more stable because she’s a t the age of seeing it as it is, she’ll stay at her place to please her guy, leaving her the possibilities that a dim light triggers.             But then again…”age doesn’t matter”.             For those who are in this relationship, they see this kind of togetherness as unique. Yes, it may be because not everyone sees the essence of a May-December relationship. But this relationship may be sweeter than any other thing in this world.             Every man has a boy within himself. He hides it because of machismo. But, when he’s with the person he loves, he tends to be more secure and he reveals himself more openly. That’s the way every man is. Then, in a May-December relationship, she is more likely to display some motherly love to her man, whether she understands the need of every man or not. Every man, though they admit it or not, always wanted that there’s someone whom they know could act as his mother and show her love unconditionally towards him.             Also, being unaccepted by the majority because of the norms and misconceptions, the duo involved in a May-December relationship try so hard in order to be accepted by the public. Most of them don’t really care if they are termed as eccentric, but others, since they’re seen as part of the society, still struggle so hard in order for them to be blessed by the public (although they know that it doesn’t really matter at all) and especially by their friends and love ones. In this sense, they do their best effort for each of them to stand strong and keep the faith burning in each one’s heart.             A May-December affair may sound absurd to most of the people, but we should not be that chary of what the people involved are happy about. They are humans, and there never a rule that had ever been established or acknowledged about the age of couples. As long as both individuals involved in the relationship are at their right legal age to decide, they are, by all forces of nature, have the right to love and be loved in return. Five Ways to know if a Couple has Chemistry               Chemistry is not just the field of science that studies about the composition and activity of substances, it is also the first thing we search in a couple that we see.             Why do couples break up? We often wonder why, then we end up realizing that those couples don’t just have the good chemistry that a compatible couple should have.             There are a lot of incompatible pairs: an emo paired with a high-fashioned chic, a preacher paired to a porn star, a photographer to a politician, an artist to a lawyer, a technician paired to an obsessive-compulsive heiress, or an archeologist paired to a narcissistic model. These pairs could go far, or these pairs could never stand.             The chemistry of a couple does not rely on the mere profession or nature that the involved partners have. Professions and the nature of an individual really are factors and have a lot to do with the progress of the relationship but, there is more to that…which is personality.             If we try to sit down in a veranda of a coffee shop in the middle of a city, we would be able to see a real number of couples. And, though we’re not experts, how can we tell if they are a pair really matched to each other by just a glance?             This may sound absurd but, they say that couples who make a great chemistry are those who look similar. They are not blood-related but this pair has similar features. They don’t have the same pair of eyes, nose bridge and nostrils, or lips. They just have the same smile and the same glisten in their eyes. This couple has a great chemistry if one smiles as huge as the other, and he looks at her the same way she does. They look so in love, they look happy, or even if their sad, they both share the same faces. That is one big basis of a good chemistry in a couple.             What if this couple is with a crowd? How can we say that there is that chemistry? If they talk to their friends other than talking to each other, they would make a great and fun couple. A couple who talks to each other only even if they are in a large group is boring. They are a couple and it’s understood that they have a lot of time of them being together alone, and it’s a good thing that a pair never misses an eye on each other and never gets bored with each other, but why not spend time with their friends this time? The couple who is able to get in the group and does not make the group feel awkward of their presence together, is a good combination.             Let’s get real now. We cannot just look into a relationship on its superficial attributes and already tell if they make a great couple. We should know better than that. When they are alone with each other, they get more real to each other. They do not tend to show off that their relationship to the others to tell that they have chemistry. A couple that has a chemistry, though alone with each other, are real with their feelings. They are very affectionate to each other but they never get annoyed about it. They inspire each other but, they do not depend on each other. He can do his job and she can do her job, apart from each other but considering each other as an inspiration to whatever they do. They see each other as the strength to carry on but not as a rival, not as the doer, and never as a constraint. They could eventually live each others’ lives but they share the same goal, and that is for them both to be better persons for each other.             Then now, let’s get deeper to the feelings of the individuals involved. In a relationship, the most important factor to have the chemistry that everyone wants is to become real to each other. Sharing the same feeling toward each other is what that makes a relationship possible. It is important that both of the partners are know that they truly love each other. This way, a couple would be more than willing to take the hardships that come along their way throughout the test of time.             Lastly, a couple who knows how to please each other is a very good combination. if a couple has a lot of things in common, that no hard way to please each other. And, if they are able to please each other, no one among the two of them would think that they want to lose the relationship. Attitude of Students towards Teachers   Over the years, many changes have occurred in the educational system; as well as the attitude of the students towards their teachers have changed differently today.   Old people said that during their times before, as students, they had experienced to be beaten by rulers, stick or rod whenever they committed misconduct or misbehavior inside the school premises.  And, the worst thing was, slapping on their faces was just a common punishment among students then.  However, that was before, and now is just a new generation of students and teachers.  And, it is very obvious the big difference between the relationship of the students and teachers now as compared   in the ancient times.  Many schools today have their own new   guidelines and policies for the students.  This study revealed that one of the English medium teachers was asked about the current situation now between students and teachers.  And, she answered right away that teachers nowadays are no longer allowed to beat their students despite any circumstances or wrongdoings of the student.  In the same manner the teachers are not allowed to let their students stand for more than ten minutes.  Instead, only written or verbal reprimand should be given initially to the student.  If the misconduct is still continuing, the Guidance Office will be the one to talk with the student or students, and their parents will be called upon for further deliberation. If the child or student/s may not change his misbehavior and even gets worst. He or she may be expelled from the school. If they find their teacher is competent and smart and patient with them, they are more likely have a good relationship with their teacher. And, most of the students now know their rights as well as the obligations of the teachers. So, they are more happy and contented if their teacher is competent and effective in teaching them.  Similarly, a teacher who has the ability to communicate well and have a good interrelationship with his or her students has a better chance to be admired and loved by the students.  However, if the teacher is strict and aloof, the students tend to avoid them as well. Sometimes, they are also not comfortable   with the learning strategies and methods of the teacher. Especially if they could hardly understand the lesson; and the teacher still not able to explain well to the students the main idea of the lesson. Moreover, students today, have a lot of guts and full of self-confidence in expressing what’s inside their minds.  They do not care whether the teacher of other people concerned will get offended; as long as they can exert their freedom of speech.  Perhaps, this bravery of the students is being influenced by the external factors such as the various forms of media such as television, newspaper, magazines and the intervention of modern technology like computer and other innovative gadgets that they are using at present time.  Obviously, majority of the students today, got a lot of confidence in oral recitation or class discussion, they are more inclined now in public opinion and social-related issues in the community.  In the same way, they can easily adapt modern changes in their environment as well in the schools.  Most of them are good communicators, they are eloquent and can easily understand English, and the best thing is they even acquired an American or British pronunciation and accent.  All these factors are deeply rooted from the fact that a lot of American and British TV shows and movies are being shown worldwide today.  And, children tend to like   Hollywood movies and cartoon shows than others. You may ask same question again and if you do you may find it an exaggerating windmill experience that goes on and on without ending. In our modern times living together is an acceptable fashion in almost all country around the world and pre-marital sex is not an issue at all. In our modern times marriage happens less and less in every country.       Feminist would say that marriage is just a piece of paper that you can never really count on it in times of trouble and husband and wife are merely just fooling each other and in times of desperation they may separate and so the holiness of marriage are wasted. They say that you can throw away the paper down the drain and put the blame on yourself why you put yourself behind bars in the matrimony of marriage. They prefer to enjoy life as it is living together so there is no need to rush and there will be no commitment involve if they decide to separate.       This modern time has taught people even children to play the card in their favor of safety privileged circumstances of choice that is flexible enough to choose that you can always change your decision if you decide that you simply want the relationship to end whenever and wherever. One teenager in U.S. at the age of 17 simply says that she’s been living with her boyfriend for the last two years and they were glad. And if she decided to leave without his boyfriend’s approval she can do so.         Nowadays it is so common to live together in America, Europe, and Scandinavia even in the most conservative region in Asia have been involve accepting in this condition. There are numerous answers why this things happen but mostly it is within the welfare or self worth and gratification, but isn’t it important to honor the decency of a family within marriage? Or what happen to the children who were born with parents who never married? I wonder if there is even involvement of love in living together or they are just merely playing the game of lust or testing the water.         People living together usually are confuse and uncertain about their partner, they usually find themselves living together mostly because of loneliness, physical needs or rebellion against society not necessarily believing in its principle. Isn’t God important inside their relationship? Of course feminist will surely reject the biblical principle because either men or women wanted their freedom in they decide to end their game.       Break up and unfaithfulness of both partners almost always happen in this kind of relationship torn apart, but at least they enjoyed it so there’s no regret in doing it just a happy ride. This is not misleading or misjudging the consequence nor abrupt but isn’t it that family can work together as one if they live together in harmony and love that strengthen them together to hold their relationship at peace knowing that they are united by God and his holiness? Living together is trying to reinvent the formula designed by God and people fail miserably.       On the other hand married couple who really love each other who have faith in God will follow his instructions. They can withstand all the trials that come in their way; they will build lasting foundation and memories together with their children. Of course there will be problems that will surely come their way, they may even part ways in the end but love will find its way to make the relationship work and if ‘it’s not, then they still have a legal entity in the eyes of the public and an opportunity to bring back the memory of the past, but this never usually happen in marriage as long as there is love and you can see that love remains even in the latter part of a married life.         Genesis 2:24 says “for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh”. And Malachi 2:15 supported it with this words; “Didn’t the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Five Best Advices You Can Give to Your Children

Sound Advice to Children   If I had children, I would advise them, first and foremost, to obey the words of God. To obey the words of God is an all-encompassing piece of advice that presupposes belief in the Supreme Being. It is only by having faith in the existence of God and by obeying His words, I believe, that our conscience can be programmed with the right set of instructions that will guide us in the right way of living life. Without this belief and obedience to God, children will grow up and end up miserable, the forces of deceitful worldly pleasures taking over their lives. Without belief in God and the knowledge that there is judgment–that we will be accountable for everything that we do in this present life–children will grow up as slaves of every temptation, rather than as masters of them, for this world is full of enticing glitters of gold, of drunkenness, and of every ephemeral sinful pleasures. Ethics and good manners alone provide no shield against the slings and arrows of the lusts of the eyes, of our destructive inner cravings, of the pride and mundane affairs of this life. Worse, children will be reduced to warring savages, and when fully grown, to dangerous untamed machines destroying their fellow human beings. Without God’s rules and instructions imbedded in their hearts, children will be cheating and doing every conceivable evil thing whether or not anyone sees them, and will not even realize that they are doing wicked things. Second to that spiritual advice concerns the physical and mental well-being of my children. I would advise them to be physically and mentally fit: Exercise regularly and take only food and medicine beneficial to health. Avoid junk foods, do not smoke, do not stay awake late at night doing things of no importance. Engage in worthwhile discussion of great ideas, read voraciously, learn foreign languages, acquire great knowledge, learn every good thing that can be learned under the sun, rev up their brain cells, sharpen their wits, switch their awareness to higher gears. Do not walk the walk of fools, neither be phlegmatic. For only by keeping themselves active, physically and intellectually fit, and abreast of the times, can they be able to efficiently perform their duties and responsibilities. My third advice is to think positively in every situation. The world is not always roses and chocolates. Most of the time it is full of weeds, of thorns and thistles, of frustrations, of pains and bitterness. Life abounds with miseries, but amid all these, I would advise my children, to look beyond the tempest and dark clouds, to hope for the brighter days to come. Adversities are inevitable, but they cannot put a good man down for a long time. Adversities must be taken as challenges, so set eyes on the glory of surmounting them. Every day of our lives we face the task of choosing one from among many choices. We tend to chose that which we believe will give us happiness in the end. Friends, companions, good marriage, good health, work, security, knowledge and wisdom, realization of dreams, self-actualization—these are considered as the building blocks of happiness which we all strive for to attain. In as much as these are the goals of attaining a happy life, I would give my children this fourth advice: Choose wisely. Choose good friends, opt for excellent companions. Make a matured choice of a good wife or husband. Pick only good books to read. Choose the line of work where they would excel, choose that which they love doing for the rest of their lives. Choose good name over sparkling riches gained through dishonest means. Choose the right information, knowledge, and wisdom, or philosophy that will set the right course for their lives. Choose what is good, fair, and just, that they may not regret it in the end. I would remind them that if they opt for mediocrity or for the wrong choice, they will suffer the consequences—consequences which may not only be terrible but may also spell the gloomy days of their future. The fifth advice on the list concerns time, energy, and financial management: Do not waste time, money, and energy. I would advise my children not to spend time worrying about the future or indulging in vices, laziness, or trivial pursuits, for these lead nowhere but to poverty. If they have excess money, I would suggest saving it or giving it to the poor. They should manage and control their time, money, and energy, otherwise these might control them. Unless I myself practice what I preach, these five best pieces of advice would by no means be taken seriously by my children. Children are great imitators and judges.
