Research proposal
Use the following headings to identify how you intend to deal with ethical issues, which may be encountered in your research. Guidance may be sought from British Psychological Society (BPS); British Educational Research Association (BERA); Social Research Association (SRA) and other relevant professional bodies
Protection Of Participants:
(All participants must be actively protected from any form of harm; this may be emotional , intellectual or physical )
The Right To Withdraw:
(All participants must be aware that they have the right to withdraw from the research at anytime)
Confidentiality:
(All data must remain confidential. Everyone has the same right to privacy, including vulnerable groups for whom confidentiality as an issue is even more crucial)
Informed consent:
(The researcher must explain as fully as possible the aims and the purpose of the research so the participants can give informed consent. How the information will be used and who will have access to the research must also be explained. Participants must not be deceived in any way about the nature and use of the research)
Consequences and Benefits:
(The researcher must be able to justify any research by showing how the positive benefits outweigh any negative consequences to participants)
