EPIDEMIOLOGY AND PREVENTION OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES


 


      Nowadays infectious diseases are widespread and there are various reasons why it is scattered all over the communities all over the world this maybe because of environmental reason it can also be because of over population and human waste, it can also be because of chemicals and pollution whatever the case maybe we cannot help but to be infected in various infections without our knowledge. A simple exposure to viruses, germs, influenza, plaques, bacteria etc. can spread all throughout and this can create a threat if we simply ignored to understand that they are infectious. However there are many ways we can prevent this infectious diseases accordingly we just need to be aware that our lifestyle can be an indicating factor to change so as to prevent the spread of such diseases. As we often hear, prevention is better than cure.


      Preventing such diseases like Cholera, Dengue, Hepatitis, Malaria, Typhoid and more are not that hard to prevent but it required a thorough discipline on our part. World Health Organization travelled around the world to keep us inform about the basic cure and prevention of these kinds of common diseases. All forms of media including television, internet, radio, newspapers etc. and other media are also contributing their part informing us about preventing these infectious diseases constantly so as to remind us that these diseases are really dangerous and contagious.


      Advances in the development in medicines are somehow been very helpful to people who are infected, the use of injection and vaccines have saved many lives and prevented the spread of deadly disease but if a person has been infected in such disease may required them to shed a part of their hard earned money to avail such cure, people from the grassroots communities who do not have the availability of resources may not be able to avail, to provide themselves such cure and basically resort into other types of cure which do not necessarily provide a real healing but a more severe case of infection. Self medication from tuberculosis, pneumonia, measles etc. is somehow dangerous.


      There are times when we need to seek the doctor’s opinion about our conditions. Never and never experiment on medicines whom we never knew or do not take the suggestions of non qualified individual even if they have already experience such disease but trust only the authorized medical professionals in doing so. Doctors sometimes require a regular visitation of healthy patients so as to maintain their healthy condition and there is nothing wrong about it.


      Before this widespread of diseases infected us, we must make sure that we are protected and sanitized. Our house and surroundings should be clean make sure that we do not expose our waste materials on the street so as  to prevent or miscarriage the insects to contaminate our environment, our blanket, bed and pillows which we often used should be laundry clean regularly. Our personal household belongings and toiletries including toothbrush, comb, clothes, should be personal and should not be shared to other people.  Our food should be clean before cooking and eating, leftovers should be pre heat before serving especially to children who have a low resistance in food poison. If possible we must boil our water before using or drinking.


      Proper hygiene like taking a bath removes germs and an infection, brushing our teeth is also basic form of preventions, exercises keeps our bones and muscles strong and healthy that gives us immunity from certain types of disease like colds and flu.


      Eat only the healthy stuff. It simply means that eating such a natural and healthy food is definitely one of the greatest factors to keep us strong and immune from various infectious diseases. Healthy foods like fruits and vegetables that contain all the natural healthy vitamins and minerals will give us a total healthy condition and makes us stronger and full of resistance that can keep us against the harmful diseases. Sometimes the natural food sources are more reliable medicine than analgesic and injection type of medicines because of their natural substances.  


      Green leafy vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, cabbage can prevent various types of cancer and keep us from infectious diseases while apples, blueberries, banana, cherries, pineapple can give us antioxidants that fights various diseases and cancers too while honey bee can cure so many diseases. A bit of meat, fishes and cereals are also good in our body. All this food that we cannot simply overemphasized contains everything we need to simply strengthen our body system to keep us from various and harmful diseases.


      Eating foods like processed foods including some meat and canned goods, junk foods, salty and oily food bloats our blood and sugar that should be regulated. These are definitely not recommended by medical professionals because of its artificial contents and may even attract various diseases.
